Video-surveillance solution

Omnicast 4.5 advanced IP video-surveillance solution supports ObjectVideo OnBoard using OV Ready. Video analytics setup can be done directly using the Omnicast client interface. Analytics events sent by the camera to Omnicast can be managed to make the system react based on their classification, for example motion detection, object removed, camera tampering, or loitering. Based on the type of event, the system can be programmed with specific actions, such as generating an alarm to a group of users, displaying the video to specific operators, or providing a procedure for handling a particular event. The solution offers a full IQinVision extension, providing more functionality to the current integration. The extension provides support for the entire IQinVision camera line including the IQcameo feature.

Fenway Park upgrades its fire-safety and mass-notification systems.

Fire detection and fire-control functions are major considerations when it comes to sports arenas. Voice evacuation systems must do more than direct people to the nearest point of egress. Life-safety systems are expected to protect against fire, weather, hazardous material, and intruder-related emergencies.

The upgrade of such a system was the primary objective behind the design and installation of an advanced fire alarm EVAC (emergency voice/alarm communications) network throughout the Boston Red Sox' historic Fenway Park and its surrounding buildings in Boston.

AFA Protective Systems, Boston, installed an advanced fire alarm and emergency voice/alarm communications (EVAC) systems network in Fenway Park, Boston, and surrounding related buildings.

"It had come to a point where Fenway needed to upgrade their existing fire alarm system because of the additional initiating and notification appliance devices they were routinely adding," said Joe Golini, sales manager with AFA Protective Systems, Boston.
