Luminous sky illusions

EcoSlim SkyCeilings are luminous sky illusions displayed in an ultra-thin, toxin-free, energy-efficient system. The low-profile design reportedly eliminates ceiling-clearance limitations, needing only 3 1/2 inches to install. The image tile is 1/4 inch below the illuminated edge-lit light guide, providing a bright image. The dimmable system provides 0% to 100% illumination control and is gasketed to prevent contamination of clean environments. Applications include healthcare, hospitality, commercial, institutional, and residential environments. The company uses evidence-based design research to support the product’s ability to alleviate stress and increase comfort and productivity.

Custom Woods Improve More Than Golf Game

Jeld-Wen custom windows and doors frame a legendary golf-course view.

Products from Jeld-Wen Windows & Doors, Klamath Falls, OR, highlight the dramatic views at one of the country's most legendary golf courses and the recent home of the PGA (Professional Golfers' Association) tournament. The 77,000-sq.-ft. clubhouse at TPC Sawgrass, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, is larger than the White House and boasts a spectacular Mediterranean-revival style. Accented by 86 of the company's custom wood windows and 77 interior doors, the clubhouse features a solid-wood interior door, hand carved by Jeld-Wen artisans to reflect the course's notorious 17th island green.

The 77,000-sq.-ft. clubhouse at TPC Sawgrass uses Jeld-Wen windows and doors to enhance the building's Mediterranean-revival style.

"TPC Sawgrass and its island green are icons of professional golf," said Elizabeth Souders, product-marketing manager for Jeld-Wen. "We wanted to demonstrate the tremendous skill of our carvers and created a totally unique door for the enjoyment of thousands of golf fans who visit the course every year."

The interior doors are made of western pine with a flat panel. To give the doors a more pro-nounced and deeper profile, an additional wood inlay was added around the panel's perimeter.
